The award will be presented to Sinn by the Bavarian Minister-President at a ceremony in the Antiquarium of the Munich Residenz on 17 April 2008.
The Bayerischer Maximiliansorden is the highest recognition awarded by the State of Bavaria for scientific and artistic merit. The number of living holders of the award is limited to 100. The award is presented every two years.
