While efforts to increase the willingness to get vaccinated began to be discussed only later in Germany, Austria was already taking such measures during November (2G rule, lockdown for the unvaccinated, announcement of mandatory vaccination). A comparison of vaccination rates in Austria and Germany suggests that these measures have resulted in an increase of 3 percentage points in the vaccination rate. The announcement and introduction of the 2G rule has had the greatest impact.
