Working from Home Potential Still Not Fully Exploited

On January 19, 2021, Germany’s federal and Länder governments decided at their conference to introduce working from home obligation for employers. New figures from the ifo Business Survey of 7,800 companies now show that the proportion of companies which allow employees to work from home was 81 percent in February 2021. Overall, around 30 percent of employees worked at least some hours from home in February 2021. It follows that 56 percent of working from home potential remained untapped.
