ifo Education Survey
The ifo Education Survey was developed by the ifo Center for the Economics of Education as part of the project “The political economy of education policy: Insights from an opinion survey” funded by the Leibniz Association. The ifo Education Survey is based on an annual public opinion survey of over 5,500 individuals who constitute a representative sample of Germany’s adult population.
Research data for download
The ifo Institute has just released the datasets of the first eight waves (2014-2021) of the ifo Education Survey (ifo Bildungsbarometer) for scientific use. You can find additional detail in the data description and access the data here.
The repeated cross-sectional datasets include a total of more than 40,000 respondents. They comprise several randomized survey experiments that facilitate investigating the causal effects of information provision, framing, and question design on answering behavior. Beyond policy preferences, the datasets also include detailed background information about respondents and different survey measures of economic preferences.
