Expectations for the climate policy of the newly elected U.S. administration are high. But are these expectations realistic? What consequences might a reorientation of U.S. climate policy have for Germany and Europe? And what might the future role of the USA look like in international efforts to achieve the Paris climate goals?

Speakers

  • Dr. Susanne Dröge (German Institute for International and Security Affairs, SWP)
  • Prof. Dr. Ottmar Edenhofer (Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, PIK)
  • Prof. Dr. Michael Mehling (Massachusetts Institute for Technology, MIT)
  • Dr. Carsten Rolle (Federation of German Industries, BDI)

With this workshop, we are continuing the series of events organized by the ifo Institute in cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences Weihenstephan-Triesdorf and the Technical University of Munich. Its aim is to create a forum for the exchange of information and opinions between scientists and practitioners on current issues of energy but also climate policy.

The event is part of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) accompanying research project "Dialogue on the Economics of Climate Change".

The workshop was held in German.
