The ifo Institute, the Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) and the Ludwig Erhard House Foundation have joined forces for the long term to found the Ludwig Erhard ifo Center for Social Market Economy and Institutional Economics in Fürth, Germany. The center’s research goal is to further develop the proven principles of the social market economy in scientifc discourse and on this basis to master the political and social challenges that lie ahead. We are greatly indebted to the Friede Springer Foundation, whose generous grant made all of this possible.
The research center will be opened and its jointly appointed director, Prof. Sarah Necker, inaugurated during a ceremony at the Ludwig Erhard Zentrum in Fürth together with the LEZ and FAU. Bavarian Prime Minister Dr. Markus Söder will be the keynote speaker. Following the ceremony, Bavaria’s state government will host an official reception.
