Tasks
Pivotal to ageing societies and low birth rates are the decisions of households, families and individuals. This project is concerned with the interplay of family and labour market policies, macroeconomic development and microeconomic decisions. The project uses a life-cycle perspective and, first, studies the interplay of assortative matching in marriage markets and education using international micro data. Second, it investigates fertility decisions in conjunction with family and labour market policies. Third, it investigates the effects of in-utero exposure to macroeconomic shocks, early life circumstances and early childhood education on child development.
