Tasks

The project analyzes the distribution of income and wealth in Germany. The results are the basis for the fifth Poverty and Wealth Report of the German government. The past four Poverty and Wealth Reports have contributed fundamentally to the understanding of the distribution of financial resources and opportunities in the Federal Republic of Germany. At the same time they have provided important impulses for clarifying what is meant by poverty and wealth in social and economic policy terms. In preparing the fifth report, it is important to build on the existing foundations and to further develop and improve the reporting methods.
