Surfing alone with a PC or smart phone - is this what everyday life looks like in the digital society? The Ifo Institute and Initiative D21 examined how the Internet influences our social life. At a presentation in Berlin on 26 May 2001 - "Homo Digitalis - Is the Internet destroying society?" - current research results were presented and discussed by a panel of experts.
Ludger Wößmann, Ifo Institute and University of Munich, Oliver Falck and Stefan Bauernschuster, Ifo Institute, see no grounds for a hostile attitude towards innovation and for cultural pessimism.
