We are the State - How Markets Work and Who (Really) Pays Taxes
Ludwig Erhard Zentrum, Ludwig-Erhard-Straße 6, 90762 Fürth
The state plays a central role in crisis management. It is trying to relieve people of the burdens of the crises with measures such as the gasoline rebate, the reduction in value-added tax or energy flat rates. To finance the measures, tax increases will be necessary sooner or later. The state can determine who it would like to burden or relieve, but it cannot control who really has the benefit or the cost.
This presentation will discuss how businesses and consumers respond to government intervention, under what circumstances citizens really benefit from the relief measures, and who ultimately bears the taxes levied to finance them.
