Tasks

Minimum income schemes are central for mitigating poverty risks as well as empowering participation of disadvantaged groups in society. As seen during the Covid-19 pandemic, effective social security systems are of special interest more than ever.  Across EU member states, minimum income schemes differ in their design, role within the respective welfare state and capability of mitigating the economic and social consequences of crises. In this project, we analyze how minimum income schemes can contribute to social resilience in periods of crisis and identify characteristics of succesful schemes by comparing social resilience between all EU member states.
