Finances and Centralized Services

Tasks of the Finance and Centralized Services department (FI) include finance, accounting, printing, dispatch, and facilities management with all janitorial activities. We see ourselves as internal service providers, assisting our customers with expert advice and support on all issues concerning the above-mentioned areas.

The accounting staff serves as the central point of contact for all questions regarding management accounting, asset accounting, payment transactions, commercial project management in the area of third-party funds, sales tax matters, as well as accounts payable and accounts receivable. We prepare single-entry and commercial-law financial statements as well as financial reports during the year and the program budget. In addition, we prepare a wide variety of special evaluations and various statistical overviews and keep the accounts for the Friends of the ifo Institute and the International Institute of Public Finance (IIPF).

Our print shop is tasked with printing ifo publications and surveys reliably, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. We advise our internal customers with regard to print preparation and the optimal design of all printed materials. Our dispatch team plans all ifo Institute mailing campaigns in cooperation with our internal customers, makes the appropriate preparations, and carries them out. We maintain the address database and manage the print media.

In Centralized Services, we handle all kinds of procurement, support other departments at internal and external events, take care of all janitorial services within the scope of facilities management, and provide courier services. Another area of responsibility is materials management and the distribution of office supplies.
