Information Technology

The employees in the ifo Institute’s IT department provide all ifo users with state-of-the-art IT infrastructure and innovative IT services. This enables the scientific and non-scientific areas to carry out their work efficiently and with a high degree of professionalism. In turn, we enjoy the appreciation of the users we support. We are a team that brings together a myriad of skill sets, and we tailor this expertise to each and every one of our projects.

The three main pillars of our work in the IT department are user support, infrastructure operations, and application operations. The services provided by the ifo IT department play a major role in the ifo Institute’s overall strategy – to help shape Market Economy 2.0.

Derived from this overall strategy, the IT strategy for the coming years calls on us to react flexibly to our environment. We will increasingly be offering IT as a shared service. This will involve reviewing and refining the existing IT solutions, communicating with ifo users in their native language, and providing IT services that raise users’ productivity and efficiency. All team members in the department have the opportunity to help shape this change – all while belonging to one of Europe’s leading economic research institutes.
