ifo Survey on Gender Norms (2020) - SUF
The ifo Survey on Gender Norms is a representative opinion survey of the German population and was conducted in 2020 as part of the ifo Education Survey. It provides rich data on gender norms, beliefs about gender norms and labor market behavior of parents in Germany. In addition to this information, the dataset also includes regional identifiers (“Raumordnungsregion” (ROR)). The scientific use files do not contain in-depth local information of the respondents (only information on federal state and on the level of “Raumordnungsregion” (ROR) are available), nor do they include any other personal information that might serve to identify the respondents. No answers to open-ended questions are provided due to data protection.
Access
The use of the data of the ifo Survey on Gender Norms is intended for scientific purposes only. The use is free of charge. Data use for a publication (e.g., articles in journals, master’s theses, dissertations, working papers, etc.) requires citation of "Hanna Brosch, Elisabeth Grewenig, Philipp Lergetporer und Katharina Werner, „Navigating the Gender Norm Landscape: Regional Variations and Labor Market Implications“, mimeo" in the respective scientific work. In order to work with the data, a project-specific usage request has to be submitted to the EBDC. Permission will be granted after review of the project application and signing of the usage request. An anonymized scientific-use file will be provided. The data package is in STATA .dta format. The codebook is available below.
