Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Munich and Upper Bavaria, Max-Joseph-Str. 2, 80333 Munich
Prof. Judith Simon, Porträt

Artificial intelligence (AI) has been on everyone's lips since the release of ChatGPT at the latest. However, AI has been permeating our lives in many areas of public and private life for much longer. This ranges from search engines and recommendation software to weather forecasts and pattern recognition in cancer diagnostics to the use of software to support decisions in the social, educational or judicial system. This diverse use of AI brings many advantages, but also raises numerous ethical questions.

In her presentation, Judith Simon, Professor at the University of Hamburg and member of the Ethics Council, will first explain the ethical questions that arise in the context of AI and then go into more detail about the German Ethics Council's statement "Man and Machine - Challenges posed by Artificial Intelligence".

Moderator: Bastian Brinkmann, Deputy Head of the Economics Editorial Office of Süddeutsche Zeitung
