The ifo Institute and the ifo Center for Macroeconomics and Surveys are pleased to announce the first edition of the conference “Understanding Socio-Economic Inequalities with Novel Data and Methods”.
This interdisciplinary conference aims at bringing together junior and senior researchers to present and discuss their ongoing research on inequalities in outcomes such as education, health, occupation, income, or wealth.
We encourage submissions on the following, or closely related, topics:
- studies focusing on socio-economic inequality, poverty, deprivation, or inequality of opportunity
- studies using unconventional data sources or data with high spatial granularity
- cross-national comparative studies
- applications of machine learning
- novel methods for the definition, estimation, or decomposition of inequality indicators
There is no participation fee for this event. Costs for accommodation and for travel are not reimbursed.
The conference is funded by the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation and the Volkswagen Foundation through the project INEQUALITREES.
