Tasks

The 18th ifo Branchen-Dialog (Industry Colloquium) took place on 8 November 2017. Around 200 participants from business, academia and politics discuss current developments and challenges in manufacturing, distribution, construction and the service sector.

Methods

Four parallel sessions on the manufacturing, commerce, construction and services sectors were held. In each session, the respective sector analysis and forecasts were presented by ifo industry experts, followed by a discussion of major industry-related structural changes.

Results

This year’s focus was on the structural changes triggered by the productivity development in manufacturing and services as well as on digitisation in commerce and construction.
