Tasks

The task of this study is to calculate the direct and indirect economic impact of the German trade fairs.

Methods

By using input-output tables, the direct and indirect production and income effects as well as the resulting tax revenue are calculated.

Data Sources

Based on surveys (selected German trade fairs) the total volume of visitors and exhibitors for a typical trade fair year are determined.

Publication

Publication as an article in the periodical “ifo Schnelldienst” is planned.
