In four sector forums – Manufacturing, Retail Trade, Construction, and Services – experts from companies, associations, politics and research discuss about current developments in these industries as well as about sector-specific focus topics such as digitization, innovation, productivity, international trade or labor market.

Results

In the ifo Industry Colloquium 2019, the manufacturing forum discussed whether there is a need for more active industrial policies in Germany; the trade forum focused on digital marketplaces and platforms; the construction forum dealt with energetic and non-energetic refurbishments of buildings; and the services forum discussed how companies should be organized so as to make the best possible use of IT services.
