Short Study: Upper Limits of Guarantee Banks Price Development up to the Year 2026

Task

In 2012, the ifo Institute prepared a short study on the subject of upper limits for guarantees from guarantee banks for the Association of German Guarantee Banks. The aim of this short study was to determine the need for adjustments to the nominal upper limits of the guarantees for loans assumed by the guarantee banks and the participations in medium-sized investment companies guaranteed by the guarantee banks, which is due to the increases in the general price level results.

For this purpose, an update is being prepared as part of the present short study, which outlines the development of the general price level in Germany since the year 2000 and describes a forecast of further development up to the year 2027.
