The working group for tax revenue estimates, an advisory group of the Federal Ministry of Finance, meets twice a year. Whereas the November forecast focuses on the current and the coming year, the forecast in May is for the medium term. The 135th meeting of the tax revenue estimates group took place on 3-5 November 2009. The estimates of total tax revenues for 2009 and 2010, which were adjusted to the new macroeconomic framework, were altered only slightly. In more detail, however, considerable adjustments were necessary. The amount of tax revenues will probably fall from €561.2 billion in 2008 to €524.1 billion. In May a decline to €527.1 billion was expected.
