What Can We Learn from PIAAC? Initial Findings of “PISA for Adults”

In October the first results of the PIAAC study were published. After PISA tested the competences of students, those of adults have now been analysed. Selected individuals who have played a leading role in the development and evaluation of PIAAC results including: Beatrice Rammstedt, Silke Martin and Natascha Massing, GESIS – Leibniz-Institut für Sozialwissenschaften, Mannheim, Andreas Schleicher, OECD, Simon Wiederhold and Ludger Wößmann, Ifo Institute, Heike Solga, Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin für Sozialforschung (WZB), Mark Levels and Rolf van der Velden, Maastricht University and Cornelia Quennet-Thielen, German Federal Ministry for Education and Research present the initial results on the status and interpretation of adults’ basic competences.
