Do Additional Earnings Negatively Impact the Political Activities of German MPs?

A new study investigates whether additional income negatively impacts the political activities of German MPs. Its results do not reveal any correlation between additional income and absence from roll-call votes or the number of speeches given in parliament. There is, however, a negative correlation between additional income and the number of verbal contributions, enquiries and group initiatives by MPs.
