Policy Reform Children: Do More Nursery Places Lead to More Children?

A study by the Ifo Institute shows that the increase in the number of government-funded nursery places has a positive effect on the number of births. A 10 percent increase in the care rate boosts the number of births per 1,000 women by 1.2, which corresponds to a 2.8% increase in the birth rate.
