Economic Reforms in Greece: a Heraclean Task

The refugee crisis has pushed economic reforms into the background of public debate in Greece in recent months. There is currently a discussion between European institutions and the International Monetary Fund as to how far Greece has implemented the reform requirements of the third bail-out package of July 2015, and whether budgetary goals can be achieved. This article shows which reforms Greece has implemented in the pension system and in the value-added tax system, and how the privatisation process is progressing.
