Female Refugees in Germany: a Quantitative Overview

Since 2012 over 500,000 women and girls have applied for asylum in Germany. There has been little public interest, however, in their integration perspectives. The combination of several factors, including a poorer average level of qualification, less professional experience, poor language skills and family obligations, make it harder for refugee women to participate in German society. This article offers insights in the light of the latest scientific findings on this topic.
