Pace of Growth in Equipment Investment Expected to Slow Down in 2017

The investment indicator, based on assessments of their current business situation by leasing companies and jointly produced by the Ifo Institute and the Federation of German Leasing Companies, signals a 2.5% upturn in equipment investment, including other machinery, for 2016. For 2017 as a whole, a further increase in gross domestic product, coupled with even higher expenditure on equipment goods and leasing commitments, is to be expected, although the pace of growth will slow.
