Economists Take a Look at Their Profession

Ten years after the outbreak of the financial crisis the July issue of the Economists Panel conducted by ifo and the Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung asked economic professors at German universities for their opinion on how economics has changed and on the extent to which the discipline has changed since the outbreak of the financial crisis. The majority of the economists surveyed reported that their students now question the models and assumptions made by them to a greater extent, but that their peers and/or referees do not.
