In the October issue of the Economists Panel, German professors of economics were surveyed on the future of the German pension system. This marked a call by Finance Minister Olaf Scholz to stabilise the current pension level at its present level beyond 2025. The majority of the economists questioned does not support this proposal and also rejects Scholz' idea of financing the scheme through 2040 using taxpayers' money.
