ifo Economic Forecast Spring 2020: Economy Collapsing

The global economy is collapsing as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. In order to stem the spread of new infections and counteract overburdening of the health care system, many countries are now restricting freedom of movement and bringing public life largely to a standstill. At the same time, most countries are attempting to mitigate the expected economic consequences with wide-ranging economic policy measures.
