ifoCAST: The New Forecast Standard of the ifo Institute

In 2009, the ifo Institute presented a forecasting tool called IFOCAST – a portmanteau of ifo and forecast – for assessing economic development at the current point in time. Now, the ifo Institute is moving its forecast architecture to a new standard based on the development of economic literature over the past ten years. Starting now, the ifo Institute will estimate and forecast the current German gross domestic product under the new brand, ifoCAST, and will regularly release the results to the public.
