Trade Fair Cancellations Cause Major Economic Losses

The cancellations of almost all trade fair events led to serious losses in sales. Compared to a normal trade fair year, the production volume induced by the expenses of exhibitors and trade fair visitors is likely to be around EUR 21 billion lower this year and tax revenue will fall by around EUR 3.4 billion. The trade fair cancellations will also change the trade fair participation behavior of exhibitors. Around 40 percent of exhibitors no longer want to participate in as many trade fairs.
