Children from educationally disadvantaged families benefit particularly strongly from attending a daycare center (Germany’s Kita), but attend it significantly less often. A new study of over 600 families with children under the age of three provides parents with information and a personalized support package for their Kita application. This measure significantly increases the application rate and Kita uptake of more educationally disadvantaged families. On the other hand, the measure has no effect on families who are more education oriented.
