Climate Notes: Central Banks and “Green Monetary Policy”

Why do central banks deal with climate and environmental issues? And how concrete are central banks’ activities in the climate field? The article takes stock of the current discussion on the topic of “green monetary policy” and focuses on the European Central Bank, which published an action plan for the consideration of climate aspects in July 2021.
