The Covid-19-pandemic has changed the lives of people around the world. The pandemic itself, as well as far-reaching policy interventions may have shifted citizens' political and economic perceptions. This article summarizes some findings from a large-scale survey in Germany, France, Spain, and the United Kingdom on political attitudes and economic perceptions conducted in March 2020, when significant contact and mobility restrictions were introduced in these four countries at different times. Overall, economic uncertainty has increased, especially among younger people; there is no hike in populist tendencies. Surprisingly, we register a slightly more positive attitude toward globalization and at the same time an increase in authoritarian tendencies.
