In this paper, I investigate whether and how the relocation behavior of Saxons differs from the East German and the German average. I examine how pronounced migration within the state is compared to out-migration and how East-West and urban-rural migration affect the development of population. For Saxony, it can be stated that relatively more inhabitants remain than in the other eastern German states and it thus has positive development prospects.
