Tasks

In the ifo Institute’s Management-Survey, a selected group of decision-makers in German companies are asked about current economic policy issues and changes in the macroeconomic environment.

Methodology

In order to obtain a sample that is as representative as possible for the German economy, managers/companies from manufacturing, construction, wholesale and retail trade, and the service sector throughout Germany take part in the online survey. In contrast to other surveys conducted by the ifo Institute, the Management-Survey, which takes place approximately quarterly, does not have a fixed program of standard questions. The aim of the survey is to obtain managers’ assessments of current developments and the associated potential impact, or ask how these developments affect their companies’ plans, in order to provide input for current economic discussions and information for the public.

Survey Participation

In order to obtain representative survey results, we regularly add new participants to the panel. Interested companies/managers can contact us at any time. Write us an e-mail or use the application form if you would like to become part of this important survey community.

The time required for the survey, which takes place approximately quarterly, is a few minutes each time. In return for your participation, you will receive the detailed results of the survey.

Of course, by participating in the ifo Management-Survey, you are not entering into any obligation; you can revoke your consent at any time. Your data will be used only to conduct the survey and will not be passed on to third parties. Your answers to our questions will be recorded online and evaluated together with the answers of other respondents. Individual responses from participants will not be published, and survey results will be published only in aggregated form. Detailed information can be found in our data protection policy.
