Short Expert Report "Overall Economic Development Until 2023/24 Against the Background of the Increase in the Broadcasting Contribution"

Against the backdrop of the Coronavirus crisis, this brief expert report  examines the extent to which the planned increase in the broadcasting contribution by EUR 0.86/month (equivalent to EUR 10.32/year) could lead to an excessive demand on those liable to pay (private households and companies). The report  uses currently available data and projections  – in view of the economic crisis situation that has not yet been overcome-. In detail, this involves:

• Firstly a compilation of selected data on the economic situation in Germany and in the individual federal states before the Coronavirus crisis,
• secondly the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic on economic development in 2020, and
• thirdly the presentation of current forecasts on further economic development after the Coronavirus pandemic has been overcome.

These aspects are presented mainly by means of tables or charts and explained in brief descriptive texts.
