The Greek government’s behaviour in the present negotiations and their debts are difficult to understand. Measures were omitted that were necessary. Instead measures were implemented that create significant financial commitments for the government. Hans-Peter Burghof, University of Hohenheim, explains the new Greek government’s behaviour as a rational negotiation strategy based on its own advantage.
