Our goal at ifo Institute is to help shape the economic debate. We are looking for economists who want to achieve research excellence. We will help you reach your goals by providing excellent research conditions alongside graduate schools and collaborations with Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich, TU Dresden, and Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. In addition, we offer a mentoring program for female economists, and our CESifo network, which gives you access to international researchers from all over the world. You can also further your career outside of research – we systematically support the professional development of our staff through workshops, seminars, and further training.
Research or Management & Service – Two Paths, One Goal
Your Career in Research
The ifo Institute represents excellence in economic research. With its strong international ties – thanks in large part to the CESifo Network – and a broad range of focus areas across 10 research centers and 3 additional units, it offers a rich environment for academic growth. This is your opportunity to work on your chosen topics in motivated, inspiring teams – and to exert impact on economic policy agendas in Germany and across Europe.
Your Career in Management and Service
To ensure that our researchers can focus fully on their work, our Management and Service teams handle a wide range of tasks that keep the institute running smoothly. From media relations and recruiting to event organization, finance, and hands-on IT support, you can experience exciting and often unexpected challenges in these areas.
