It covers earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, storms, extreme temperature events, floods and droughts on a monthly and yearly basis.

The data provide a unique dataset for economic analysis as it contains variation which is presumably exogenous to economic outcomes. The service of ifo GAME is to provide the data in a structured and aggregated way.

ifo GAME stores its data in STATA (.dta) format. The Codebook provides information on original sources, from which the raw ifo GAME data have been drawn, as well as the names, definitions and labels for each variable contained in ifo GAME.
