CESifo Area Conference on Macro with Micro Data 2026
Scientific Organizers: Monika Piazzesi and Andreas Peichl
We invite the submission of papers to the first CESifo Area Conference on Macro with Micro Data to be held in June 2026. The purpose of this conference is to facilitate discussion on research dealing with any topic in macro between researchers from both sides of the Atlantic.
By bringing together detailed datasets, structural models, and key questions at the intersection of macroeconomics and financial markets, papers presented aim to build a good policy-relevant understanding of the real economy and financial markets.
Submissions may deal with any research addressing the use of micro and survey data in macroeconomics. Papers may be theoretical, empirical, and policy-oriented on a large variety of topics, including but not limited to:
• Heterogeneous effects of monetary policy on households and firms
• The role of financial frictions in amplifying shocks
• The interaction of regulation and credit supply
• The contribution of expectations to market dynamics
• Survey methodologies and forecasting performance of survey- and micro data in business cycle research
Submissions from both CESifo network members and non-network members will be considered. Preference will be given to complete papers.
The keynote lectures will be held by Yueran Ma (University of Chicago) and Ludwig Straub (Harvard University).
