Labor Economics
The proliferation of high-quality administrative datasets, combined with the use of convincing econometric methods, is a remarkable development in Europe. The Labor Economics area of the CESifo network, organized by Gordon B. Dahl (University of California, San Diego), leverages these advances by bringing together the best international researchers to study labor markets and related social programs in new and innovative ways. Reflecting the breadth of modern labor economics, the scope of topics is broad. From employment and compensation to immigration and migration, family and gender issues to inequality and poverty, health and crime, there is one unifying goal: to provide insights into the world’s most pressing policy questions using theoretically grounded, state-of-the-art statistical analyses.
